STEPANAKERT—President of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Bako Sahakian on Friday met with the chairman of the Pan-Armenian Games’ International Committee Ishkhan Zakaryan, Armenian Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Gabriel Ghazaryan and a group of officials representing these two structures.

The purpose of the meeting was to kick off preparations for the 7th Pan-Armenian summer games to be held in Artsakh in 2019.

President Sahakian highlighted that holding the Pan-Armenian games in Artsakh would greatly enhance and help develop athletics and culture in the country, as well as cement what he called “the Armenia-Artsakh-Diaspora trinity.” He pledged that no effort will be spared to ensure that the games are of the highest caliber.

Joining Sahakian at the meeting was National Assembly Speaker Ashot Ghoulyan, Prime-Minister Arayik Haroutyun and other officials.
