YEREVAN—Manvel Mamoyan set a new Guinness World Record in Freedom Square in Yerevan on August 25, 2016 for most knuckle pushups in one minute. The previous world record holder was of Canadian Roy Berger, holding the record for 84 knuckle push-ups in one minute.
During his first attempt, Mamoyan did 83 push-ups and was unsuccessful in continuing. According to the Guinness rules, the athlete had the right to three attempts.
Mamoyan set the record during his 2nd attempt by doing 86 push-ups.
The Armenian athlete’s results will be registered in the Guinness World Record book after the committee’s final approval. This process will take around four months.
Already having the Guinness World Record for most handstand push-ups in one minute, Mamoyan dedicated his achievement to the memories of fallen heroes of the Four-Day War in Nagorno-Karabakh.
