STEPANAKERT (ArmRadio)—Living in Talish will be as safe as in Mataghis or Martakert, authorities of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (Artsakh) assure. Some Talish residents who were displaced after the April war have already repatriated, while authorities have pledged to create conditions for all citizens to return to Talish and remain.

The Karabakh leadership has invited architects from Armenia and Diaspora to participate in reconstruction works. Secretary of the Karabakh Security Service Vitaly Balasanyan, who keeps the reconstruction works in the spotlight, says today’s modernized defense systems allow to ensure the security of all borderline settlements, including Talish.

The power supply has been fully restored; the water supply system will start working in the coming days. The road to the village is being reconstructed. Balasanyan says residents of Talish will be given tax and energy benefits.

The spokesperson for Karabakh’s Prime Minister Artak Beglaryan said it’s hard to estimate the number of Talish residents still living in Armenia. “The numbers change, because more and more families opt for return to Artsakh,” he said.

The Azerbaijani side kept violating the ceasefire regime at the line of contact with the Karabakh forces Sunday night.

The rival mainly used firearms of different calibers (550 shots) and sniper rifles (33 shots). The Azeri side also used a hand-held antitank grenade launcher in the eastern Martuni direction.

The front divisions of the Artsakh Defense Army confidently continued with their military duty and ensured the reliable protection of the frontline.

“The situation is calm at this point and is under vigil control of the Armenian forces,” the Artsakh Defense Ministry said.
