SYDNEY: The Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Australia Tro Committee kicked off its 'Time for Youth' initiative by inviting Sydney Armenian youth to the Armenian Cultural Centre (Agoomp) for a social barbeque.
Over 70 young Armenians turned up to the event, which was advertised by word of mouth, and they were entertained by musician Tony Akillian and singers Sevag Varjabedian, Ohaness Ohanessian and Hagop Gulumian.
ARF Australia Tro Committee Chairman, Onnig Soghomonian told the gathered: "It is very pleasing to see so many youth in our Agoomp; the very Agoomp that was built and maintained by the organisations that your parents, grandparents, aunties and uncles have served so diligently for many years.
"These organisations now need you. We need younger ideas, fresh leadership and a youth who will take on the challenge of guiding this community to many successes over coming years and decades."
Senior members of the Armenian Youth Federation of Australia were also in attendance and enjoyed spending time with AYF Alumni.
The ARF Tro Committee also took the opportunity of this event to extend warm words of appreciation to Harmick Hacobian and all donors who helped with the recently-completed renovation of the Armenian Cultural Centre in Willoughby.
