SYDNEY: Galstaun College has released a statement, revealing outstanding results by its Year 12 students in the 2014 Higher School Certificate (HSC), which ranks the Armenian school in the top 12% of New South Wales.
The results outlined in the statement below mean Galstaun College has achieved unprecedented success across many subjects, ensuring the school's position in the top echelon of over 640 schools in Australia's most populous state.
STATEMENT
We are proud to announce that for the 2014 HSC, Galstaun College has been ranked 78th out of 641 schools in New South Wales (top 12%). For a non-selective school, this is a fantastic result and demonstrates the commitment this College has in delivering academic excellence within a nurturing and safe environment.
12 out of 21 students made the distinguished achievers list, with both Patil Sevagian and Sarin Zaitounian achieving Band 6’s (90 and above) in four different subject areas. Daniel Batrounian and Loucine Kelleyan also performed exceptionally, and achieved ATARs above 90.
Other students who achieved marks above 90 in a subject included; Trina Andriasian; George Bannayan; Narineh Borghonzian; Angela Bozoghlian; Narine Gulumian; Aida Lepedjian; Mariam Melkonian and Meghrie Panjarian

The ranking of 78th in the state places Galstaun College ahead of schools such as Brigidine St Ives (87th), Covenant Christian School (127th), Davidson High School (306th), Holy Cross Ryde (393rd) Killarney Heights High School (160th), Marist College North Shore (174th) & Eastwood (197th), Marist Sisters College Woolwich (147th) Mercy Catholic College (113th), Northern Beaches Christian School (182nd), Oxford Falls Grammar (83rd), Pittwater House (169th), Ryde Secondary (145th), St Pius X College (84th), and SCECGS Redlands (101st).
