Call to Australian-Armenians: Wake up and vote for Armenia in Eurovision tomorrow

By armenia.com.au | Saturday, 23 May 2015

AUSTRALIA: In the early morning of tomorrow (Sunday 24th May), the final of Eurovision will take place. Australians can vote this year, therefore we are calling on all Armenian-Australians to wake up at 5am, watch, then vote for Armenia's act, Genealogy.

Armenia Media Inc's Managing Editor, Nerses Baliozian said: "For the first time, Australians can vote in Eurovision, because our country gained a wildcard entry into the tournament this year."

He explained: "Australia's act is former Australian Idol winner, Guy Sebastien, but Australians cannot vote for the act from their own country due to Eurovision rules. So it makes sense for us all to vote for Armenia!"

Armenia's act, Genealogy is a group put together from Armenians representing all corners of the globe, coincidentally including Mary-Jean O’Doherty Vasmatzian from Australia.

Her co-stars are Essaï Altounian from Europe, Tamar Kaprelian from America, Stephanie Topalian from Asia, Vahe Tilbian from Africa, and Inga Arshakyan from Armenia.

The Eurovision final will take place at 5am (Sydney/Melbourne time) on Sunday 24th May. It will be screened live on SBS. When all performances finish, voting will open FOR ONLY 15 MINUTES! We ask that you follow the instructions at that point and vote Armenia!
