Hranush Hakobyan: “Manjikian the comedian presents the truth about human relations with his humour”

YEREVAN: On November 4, Australian-Armenian satirist Apo Manjikian presented his mono play (“Who Am I?”), which was held at the initiative of the RA Ministry of Diaspora and was attended by RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan, RA Deputy Minister of Diaspora Serzh Srapionyan and field experts.

Manjikian presented funny episodes of the lives of Armenians abroad.

“I warmly and cordially welcome Apo Manjikian’s satirical performance. The funny episodes in Apo Manjikian’s play are linked to the lives of Diaspora Armenians, their feeling of patriotism, as well as personal experiences and experiences in the communities in which they live.

"Apo Manjikian is very popular in the Armenian community of Australia and has given several performances at the theaters of Hamazkayin Melbourne and Sydney. With his humor and satire, Manjikian the comedian presents the truth about human relations, presents the unacceptable phenomenon in life and the morals and customs that spoil mankind. He gives foreigners a picture of how viable and impartial Armenians are. Manjikian presents the social, political and moral defects in life through satire,” Deputy Minister Serzh Srapionyan mentioned as he presented the welcome speech of Minister Hranush Hakobyan.

The minister attached special importance to the fact that Apo Manjikian, who lives and creates far away from the Homeland, has preserved his national identity, culture and arts.

Apo Manjikian expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Diaspora for hosing him in Armenia and always supporting him.

Afterwards, Hranush Hakobyan awarded Apo Manjikian with a certificate of the RA Ministry of Diaspora for his contributions to the development of Armenian culture in the Diaspora.
