SYDNEY: On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Independence of Artsakh, the Armenian Youth Federation of Australia (AYF Australia) has organised a number of activities starting Sunday 28th August, with the aim of increasing public awareness of the current situation in Artsakh (Republic of Nagorno Karabakh), highlighting the country's rights to self-determination as well as the recent aggression by Azerbaijan which has caused instability in the region.

AYF Australia has organised social media informational posts, and will be collaborating with the Armenian Students’ Association to host exhibitions within universities with the view to educate Australian youth on the situation.

AYF Australia will also be participating in an educational lecture with Mr. Kaylar Michaelian; Australia's Permanent Representative of the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh, about how the youth in the diaspora can better assist Artsakh, while they will also be hosting a public exhibition and petition drive in Sydney and educational lectures at schools in New South Wales.

Towards the end of the year, AYF Australia will also organise a winter clothing appeal to help those in need in Artsakh to get through the coldest period of the year.

A statement from AYF Australia read: "We see it as extremely important and our principal focus to educate the general public about our struggle as well as the struggle of the natives of Artsakh."

Follow AYF Australia's Artsakh Advocacy Week across all social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat, to keep track.
