SYDNEY & MELBOURNE: The Armenian Genocide Commemorative Committee (AGCC) has announced the following schedule of events organised to commemorate the 103rd Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in Australia.


A) SYDNEY #MARCHFORJUSTICE - 22 April

The Sydney #MARCHFORJUSTICE will take place on Sunday, April 22nd 2017. It will begin at the Hyde Park Fountain in Sydney, and end with a special program at Customs House in Circular Quay.

A number of buses have been organised to transport participants to and from the City. They will depart from:

1. Ararat Scout Hall - Quarry Road, Ryde at 12:30pm
2. Armenian Apostolic Church - 10 Macquarie Street, Chatswood at 1:00pm
3. Armenian Cultural Centre - 259 Penshurst Street, Willoughby at 1:00pm
4. Navasart Scout Hall - 1 Rowley Street, Smithfield at 12:15pm

Please note all buses will be returning back to their original locations after the closing of the event, by around 4:30pm.

C) MELBOURNE COMMEMORATION EVENING - 23 April

The Melbourne Armenian Genocide Commemoration Evening, featuring international keynote speaker, Bestselling Author, Chris Bohjalian. The event will take place at Springvale Town Hall, Springvale, from 7:00pm (for 7:30pm start).

E - NATIONAL ARMENIAN GENOCIDE COMMEMORATION EVENING (SYDNEY) - 24 April

The National Armenian Genocide Commemoration Evening in Sydney, featuring as international keynote speaker, Bestselling Author Chris Bohjalian and special guest speaker, University of Auckland Lecturer Dr. Maria Armoudian. The event will take place on Tuesday 24th April at The Concourse in Chatswood from 7:00pm (for 7:30pm start).

G - ARMENIAN GENOCIDE COMMEMORATIVE LECTURE - 26 April

The annual Wreath Laying & Armenian Genocide Commemorative Lecture, organised by the Australian Institute for Holocaust & Genocide Studies, will take place on Thursday 26th April - from 7:00pm. The venue will be announced soon.

The lecture will be delivered by Bestselling Author, Chris Bohjalian.


H - WESTERN SYDNEY ARMENIAN GENOCIDE COMMEMORATION EVENING - 27 April

Hamazkaine Australia's Sevan Chapter has organised a Western Sydney Commemoration Evening, which will take place at the Armenian Cultural Panoyan Centre - 682 Cabramatta Road Bonnyrigg, starting at 7:00pm.

When: Saturday 28th April 2018 at 2.30pm
Where: Memorial Park – Meadow Crescent, Meadowbank
Later: Followed by an afternoon tea to be held at the Ryde Multicultural Centre (2 Shaftsbury Road West Ryde)
