SYDNEY / MELBOURNE / ADELAIDE / BRISBANE: The Armenian Genocide Commemorative Committee (AGCC) has announced the following schedule of events organised to commemorate the 104th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in Australia.

A - NATIONAL ARMENIAN GENOCIDE COMMEMORATION EVENING (SYDNEY) - 24 April

The National Armenian Genocide Commemoration Evening in Sydney, featuring as keynote speaker the Vice President of the International Association of Genocide Scholars, Dr. Melanie O'Brien. The event will take place on Wednesday 24th April 2019 at The Concourse in Chatswood from 7:00pm (for 7:30pm start).




B) MELBOURNE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE COMMEMORATION EVENING - 24 April

The Melbourne Armenian Genocide Commemoration Evening, featuring keynote speaker, Dr. Donna Lee Frieze. The event will take place on Wednesday 24 April 2019, at Springvale Town Hall, Springvale, from 7:00pm (for 7:30pm start).

C - ADELAIDE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE COMMEMORATION - 24 April

The annual wreath laying ceremony to commemorate the 104th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in Adelaide will take place on Wednesday 24 April 2019 at the Migration Museum - 82 Kintore Avenue, Adelaide at 5:30pm.




D - BRISBANE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE COMMEMORATION - 24 April

The Armenian Genocide Commemoration in Brisbane will take place on Wednesday 24 April 2019 at 28 Dibley Street, Woolloongabba.




E - CHURCH SERVICES IN HONOUR OF HOLY MARTYRS OF THE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE

24th April 2019: Holy Mass and Wreath Laying at Beauchamp Park, Willoughby

F - WESTERN SYDNEY ARMENIAN GENOCIDE COMMEMORATION EVENING - 26 April

The Western Sydney Armenian Genocide Commemoration Evening, which will take place on Friday 26 April at the Redgum Centre - 8-14 Lane Street, Wentworthville, starting at 7:00pm.




G - MELBOURNE MARCH FOR JUSTICE - 27 April

The Melbourne Armenian Genocide March for Justice will take place on Saturday 27 April 2019 at 1pm from the VIC State Library. Buses departing Hye Getron in Springvale at 12pm.

H - RYDE CITY COUNCIL ARMENIAN GENOCIDE COMMEMORATION - 27 April

When: Saturday 27th April 2018 at 2.30pm
Where: Memorial Park – Meadow Crescent, Meadowbank




I) SYDNEY #MARCHFORJUSTICE - 28 April

The Sydney #MARCHFORJUSTICE will take place on Sunday, April 28th 2019. It will begin at the Hyde Park Fountain in Sydney at 2pm, and end with a special program at First Fleet Park in Circular Quay.

A number of buses have been organised to transport participants to and from the City. They will depart from:

1. Ararat Scout Hall - Quarry Road, Ryde at 12:30pm
2. Armenian Apostolic Church - 10 Macquarie Street, Chatswood at 1:00pm
3. Armenian Cultural Centre - 259 Penshurst Street, Willoughby at 1:00pm
4. Navasart Scout Hall - 1 Rowley Street, Smithfield at 12:15pm
5. Armenian Apostolic Church (West) - 26 Garfield Road, Wentworthville at 12:15pm
6. Armenian Catholic Church - 5 John Street, Lidcombe at 12:45pm

Please note all buses will be returning back to their original locations after the closing of the event, by around 4:30pm.
