Galstaun College is pleased to announce that it has (once again) been selected by ACARA (Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority) as having demonstrated substantially above average gains in NAPLAN results for students who have progressed from Year 7 (2016) to Year 9 (2018) for both numeracy and reading.
This is a significant achievement and is the second time the College has been acknowledged for such gains in recent years. As highlighted below, the Year 9 cohort demonstrated significant gains in all areas when compared to schools in NSW and schools of similar socio-educational backgrounds.
Also, it is important to note that the Year 9 NAPLAN average result was well above the state and SSSG averages for numeracy, reading, writing, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Such gains in NAPLAN are rare and I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all students and staff in what is a fantastic achievement. The results are yet another reflection of Galstaun College’s continuing commitment to strive for academic excellence and to ensure that every student reaches his or her full potential in a safe and nurturing environment, while also being enriched by our Armenian language, culture, traditions and Christian values.
The Principal is currently interviewing and offering places for our Reception 2020 intake. If you still need to enrol a sibling, or have friends that are interested in enroling their children then please submit an application form without delay. Forms may be collected from the office or via email enrolments@galstaun.nsw.edu.au.
Applications are also open for entry into Reception 2021 and beyond. Limited places are available in most other Primary classes.
