SYDNEY: The Galstaun College Alumni Association Executive held its annual review meeting and set out an exciting agenda of activities for 2010.
The meeting, attended by the Executive, a Board representative and the Galstaun College Principal Kaylar Michaelian, highlighted the key achievements of the Alumni Association in 2009:
Galstaun College Alumni Association Vice-Chairperson, Varant Jambazian said 2009 was a year of "positive action" by the group, and said 2010 promised to be far more eventful.
"The Alumni Association Executive is extremely motivated; to the extent that everyone wants to stay on to build on our planted seeds of last year," said the 2000 graduate who now works in corporate world Management with an Australian retail giant.
"We feel 2010 will bring together more of our Alumni to work with the school community and with this greater participation, we expect to introduce more initiatives that will mobilise our community in support of our College," Jambazian added.
The "initiatives" Jambazian refers to includes activities planned to promote the fruits of Galstaun College - its ex-students and graduates who are now excelling in their professional careers.
Taline Kayserian, a Galstaun College Alumni who currently fulfils the role of School Counsellor at the College, added that a Careers Day featuring Alumni speakers was planned for the second half of 2010.
"It is extremely motivating for current seniors of the College to see their classroom predecessors succeeding in life," she said. "We have some wonderfully high achievers among our Alumni and plan to introduce them all to our current student body."
