SYDNEY: On Saturday the 27th of February, Homenetmen Australia concluded its AGM with representatives from all its five chapters. Representing the Tro Gomideh was Unger Berdj Momdjian and the Homenetmen Central Committee was Yeghpair Sarkis Der Bedrossian. The meeting concluded with the release of the following statement:

"The 16th Homenetmen Australia AGM reaffirms its commitment and joint sponsorship of the construction of the Multipurpose Hall on the grounds of Galstaun College to be called the Smoky Dawson Performance Centre (and the yet to be named indoor sports centre). The multipurpose facility will not only meet the requirements of the College during school hours but will also provide Homenetmen and the Sydney Armenian Community generally with the sporting facilities to utilise after hours.

"The sports and performance multipurpose hall, which will be built in stages, will have two full size basketball courts that can be converted to a single court which could seat approximately 800 spectators. This facility will also cater for indoor soccer, volleyball, badminton and rock climbing as well as having a state of the art gym room and fitness machines. The meeting was informed that plans were submitted to council and that constructions would soon follow.

"In the coming months Homenetmen Australia will be seeking financial support from its members and the community in general to make this community dream a reality."
