OSCE to monitor in Artsakh’s Askeran region

STEPANAKERT (Armenpress)—On August 3, the OSCE Mission will conduct a planned monitoring of the border between the armed forces of Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan, in the Askeran direction near Bash Karvend village, reported press service of Artsakh’s Foreign Ministry.

From the positions of the Artsakh Defense Army, the monitoring will be conducted by Field Assistant of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Jiri Aberle (Czech Republic) and staff member of the Office Peter Svedberg (Sweden).

From the opposite side of the border, the monitoring will be conducted by Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk and his Field Assistant Khristo Khristov (Bulgaria).

The Karabakh authorities have expressed their readiness to assist in conducting the monitoring and to ensure the security of the OSCE Mission members.

The Defense Ministry of Karabakh announced that the Azerbaijani forces made 27 ceasefire violations in the Nagorno Karabakh-Azerbaijani contact line.

The Defense Army forces adhered to the ceasefire regime and continue to confidently conduct their military service.
