OSCE Co-Chairs, Lavrov discuss Karabakh conflict

MOSCOW (ArmRadio)—Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov received on Thursday the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs Igor Popov, James Warlick, and Piere Andrieu, and the Personal representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk.

Discussion included issues of the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement process, including the process of implementation of the agreements reached at the Vienna and St. Petersburg, as well as the current situation at the Armenian-Azerbaijani line of contact.

The OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs’ Dialogue on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement go on in line with the timetable, announced the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The OSCE Mission on September 7 conducted a planned monitoring at the border of Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan in the Omar pass, according to the press service of the Artsakh Foreign Ministry.

The monitoring was conducted from the Artsakh side by Field Assistant of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Gennadie Petrica of Moldova and staff member of the office Peter Svedberg of Sweden. They were accompanied by representatives of the Artsakh Foreign and Defense Ministry.

From the Azerbaijani side, the monitoring was conducted by Field Assistant of the Personal representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Jiri Aberle of Czech Republic and Personal Assistant of the OSCE CiO Simon Tiller of Great Britain.

There were no violations of the cease-fire regime registered.

On Thursday, Harlem Désir, French Secretary of State for European Affairs, received Elmar Mammadyarov, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister, reported the French Foreign Ministry.

Their meeting discussed negotiations for a peaceful solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The Co-chairs of the Minsk Group also attended the meeting.

Désir and Mammadyarov also discussed relations between Azerbaijan and France and the EU.
