President Sahakian rated highly the activities of the Defense Army’s command and staff aimed at effectively rebuffing the enemy’s offensive operations, forcing the Azeri army to retreat to initial position with great losses. According to Bako Sahakian, the Defense Army’s actions demonstrated the high level of combat readiness of the armed forces and the unwavering spirit and patriotism of Artsakh’s soldiers.
The President also expressed gratitude to the Artsakh War veterans who gathered on the frontline in solidarity with the army, highlighting the work done by the Artsakh Union of Freedom Fighters.
Bako Sahakyan noted with regret that there were victims during the defense of the Fatherland and expressed condolences to the relatives of the perished soldiers on the irreversible loss.
Upon listening to defense minister Movses Hakobyan’s report regarding the carried out operations, the current situation, and possible developments, the President gave concrete instructions to the Defense Army’s supreme command staff.
President Sahakyan underlined the necessity of suppressing any activities of the enemy aimed at destabilizing the situation on the border, noting at the same time Stepanakert’s devotion to peaceful settlement of the conflict.
The Nagorno-Karabakh military remains vigilant along the Line of Contact to resist possible aggression by the Azerbaijani side.
The Defense Army said in a press release that its frontline subdivisions are well-prepared to launch deadly counterattacks upon necessity.
According to the statement, the ceasefire was violated about 400 times overnight, with the enemy firing over 6,500 gunshots against the Armenians border guards.
