Galstaun College is proud to announce that Sonia Nazarian has been awarded the Dux of the College with an ATAR of 97.7 as well as being placed in the All-round Achievers List for being a Distinguished Achiever in six of her subjects in the 2021 Higher School Certificate (HSC).
Also, congratulations to Nanar Marashlian (ATAR 95.7) who made the Distinguished Achievers List for four of her subjects with both Lara Megerditchian and Lori Basmajian having three subjects in the Distinguished Achievers List and also achieving ATAR’s above 90.
Other students who achieved marks above 90 in a subject included Serly Boujikian; Leah Lingard; Lena Megerditchian; Krikor Nalbandian and Sellah Tarakjian.
Some of the 2021 HSC Highlights include:
9% of students achieving an ATAR above 95 and 18% above 90
100% of students achieving a Band 6 in Drama compared to the state average of 18%.
33% of students achieving a Band 6 for Advanced English compared to the state average of 16%.
33% of students achieving a Band 6 for Ancient History compared to the state average of 10%.
30% of students achieving a Band 6 for Legal Studies compared to the state average of 15%.
27% of students achieving a Band 6 for Armenian Continuers.
25% of students achieving a Band 6 for Advanced Maths.
The College achieving its highest result in Design & Technology with 96 as well as 95 for Visual Arts.
Success rate of 13.6% placing the College inside the top 25% of schools in NSW.
Galstaun College Principal, Edward Demirdjian said: “I would like to congratulate the Class of 2021 for their exceptional HSC results. In what would have been a difficult year for our Year 12 students, I am proud of their efforts and the way they responded to the challenges of the HSC, remote learning and lockdown.”
