MELBOURNE: Armenian National Committee of Australia (ANC Australia) Executive Director Varant Meguerditchian and ANC Australia Melbourne Representative Hovig Melkonian have met with Warren Fineberg, Executive Director of the Jewish Holocaust Centre, to discuss cooperation and joint projects that would build greater awareness of the Armenian Genocide in Melbourne.

Fineberg invited the ANC Australia delegation to the Holocaust Centre Museum, where a permanent display prepared by genocide historian Dr Donna-Lee Frieze outlining the history of the Armenian Genocide has been added since 2010. 

The Holocaust Centre’s Executive Director also pledged to involve ANC Australia Melbourne in several upcoming projects which focus on genocide education and remembrance.

Melkonian thanked Fineberg for his support.

“We are encouraged by Mr Fineberg’s willingness to include information relating to the Armenian Genocide in exhibitions and projects undertaken by the Jewish Holocaust Centre,” he said.

“We look forward to working closely with the Jewish Holocaust Centre to ensure that together we bring an end to the cycle of genocide.”
