YEREVAN (Yerkir Media)-The release last week of an announcement by the presidents of US, France and Russia on the Madrid principles guiding the Karabakh peace talks has created an uproar in the Armenian blogosphere, with bloggers united in calling on President Serzh Sargsyan to immediately relieve Foreign Minister Eduard Nalbandian from his duties.

In the bloggers' opinion, the Madrid Principles, which include the withdrawal from the liberated territories surrounding the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, would be detrimental for Armenia and Karabakh and the entire Armenian nation.

An announcement circulating on the Armenian blogosphere stated that the provisions outlined by the three presidents are counter to the interests of the Armenian people and threaten the future statehood of Armenia.

"We strongly condemn the Armenian government for keeping the provisions of the Madrid Principles a secret from the Armenian people," said the statement, which went on to condemn Nalbandian for welcoming the announcement made by the presidents.

After calling on Sargsyan to immediately relieve Nalbandian from his duties, the authors of the statement urged the government to refrain from signing agreements that are "anti-Armenian in nature".
