YEREVAN (Combined Sources)—Azerbaijani forces on Wednesday attempted to attack Nagorno-Karabakh Republic positions in three directions to the east of the border between Artsakh and Azerbaijan.
The front divisions of the Karabakh Defense Army were quick to spot the advancement of the Azerbaijani special units and forced the rival to retreat, incurring losses.
The Azerbaijanis left a number of weapons and other military equipment intended for the special operation. The Defense Army had no casualties during the shooting between the sides.
The Press Service of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Defense Ministry released photos of material evidence of last night’s failed attempt of a subversive action carried out by Azerbaijani side. The evidence includes a number of weapons intended for the special operation left by the retreating adversary at the place of the operation.
These violations have occurred just one week after a total of four Karabakh soldiers were killed by Azerbaijani gunfire.
Garik Avanesyan, 24, was killed December 8 when Azerbaijani forces deployed a tank for the first time since the cease fire agreement went into effect in 1994. Vardan Vardanian, 21, was killed on the morning of December 11 while 20-year-old Erik Grigoryan was killed on December 4.
The following are the photos of the weapons that the Artsakh Defense Ministry has released.
