YEREVAN (Arka)—Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received today U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Richard Mills and the newly appointed Director of USAID Armenia Deborah Grieser, the government press office said.
Abrahamyan congratulated Grieser on her new appointment and expressed confidence that she will use her wealth of experience to organize efficient work at the USAID Armenian Office.
Abrahamyan also stressed the importance of assistance provided by the U.S. government to Armenia and the Armenian people.
The Prime Minister noted that the government is ready to consider the possibility of implementing new joint programs with USAID.
In turn, Ambassador Mills noted the importance of cooperation with the Armenian government for the country’s economic development, strengthening and deepening trade and investment ties between the two countries.
The Ambassador stressed the programs implemented by USAID in the areas of tourism and agriculture, and discussed a number of other issues of mutual interest.
