PRAGUE, Czech Republic (PanArmenian.net) —Armenian chess players won two gold medals at the European Youth Chess Championship in Prague, Czech Republic.
Mamikon Gharibyan won gold in the twelve year-old boys’ category, scoring eight points out of possible nine.
Manuel Petrosyan won gold for the 18 year-old boys’ category, winning with 7.5 points.
Several other Armenians participated and were included at least in the top 10 in their respective categories at the European Championship which lasted ten days from August 17-28 with around 6000 games.
