The new housing complex in Stepanakert

STEPANAKERT–A new housing complex called “Artsakh” was inaugurated on December 4, featuring buildings that will house hundreds in newly-constructed apartment towers.

President Serzh Sarkisian and Nagorno-Karabakh Republic President Bako Sahakian were on hand as hundreds filled the streets of the capital of Karabakh to celebrate this new venture.

President Sahakian emphasized the significance of this district for the capital saying that it would have a tangible impact on the solution of housing issues in Stepanakert and give new quality to the architectural appearance of the city.

Primate of the Artsakh Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan, Chairman of the National Assembly Ashot Ghoulyan, Prime Minister Ara Harutyunyan, Armenia’s Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan and other officials attended the event.

Sarkisian and Sahakian also attended the re-opening ceremony of the military hospital in the Ivanyan village.

Sahakian emphasized the importance of this institution for the Defense Army, saying that the healthcare of servicemen is among the pivotal components of the fighting efficiency of the armed forces. He pledged that this matter would be a priority for his administration.

On the same day, the two presidents also attended special classes organized by in one of the training centers of the Karabakh Defense Army.

On Tuesday, the two presidents visited other military units in the Nagrono-Karabakh Republic and attended the opening ceremonies for the Sayat Nova sports complex in Martuni.

Earlier they toured Askeran and Shoushi.
