The 3rd Armenian Film Festival Sydney Australia will commence from 17-26 August 2018 at the Events Cinema Top Ryde, and promises to offer Sydneysiders an entertaining journey into Armenian culture and history through the many genre of films to be showcased.
Festival Co-Directors Margaret Chater and Hourie Demirjian are pleased to formally announce the third Festival, which will also see writer-director Anahid Abad attending the film festival for the Australia first premier of her controversial film Yeva. Her film was the Armenian submission in the Best Foreign Film category for the 2018 Academy Awards.
The festival will formally open with an Opening Night Gala, featuring the Australian premiere of the Armenian, Belgian, and French produced black comedy, Bravo Virtuoso starring popular actor Samvel Tadevosian.
Premier of NSW, Gladys Berejiklian will be in attendance at this Opening Night Gala to be held Saturday, 18 August 2018 at the Events Cinema Top Ryde. This Gala Event will also feature live entertainment by Ari Palandjian and his High Rollers Big Band.
Bluepoint Consulting Pty Ltd, specialised financial and investment services, is delighted to partner with the Armenian Film Festival as the major sponsor, as the festival showcases amazing Filmmakers, Producers, Directors, Actors both of Armenian and non-Armenian heritage to the Australian shores.
The festival will comprise of 15 films, feature films, short-films and documentaries with genres including comedy, drama, family and action, as well as Armenian cultural and historical themes.
Some of the festival big hitters to note include multi-award winning documentary Crows of the Desert, the Turkish production Lost Birds, and a special feature film Path of our Dream, which will wrap up the festival on 26 August 2018. Plus interesting international Festival Guests will offer audiences a rare opportunity for post-viewing discussions with the artistic creative behind select films.
