On December 15, Martha Hall Findlay, MP for Willowdale, and friend of the Canadian Armenian community, made a statement in the House of Commons marking the fifth anniversary of the destruction of the khachkars in the Djulfa cemetery.
Describing it as “a significant loss of history and culture”, she commended the work of the Armenian-Canadian community in trying to preserve and celebrate Armenian culture.
