STEPANAKERT—The Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army has issued a statement on recent Azerbaijani Air Force training flights near the frontlines, which have intensified in recent weeks.

“The Command of the Defense Army warns that in case of violation of Artsakh’s airspace the Artsakh air defense forces will take all the necessary measures to destroy the enemy aerial targets,” the statement reads.

“Artsakh’s airspace is secure and is under permanent control of the air-defense forces.”

On July 16, Artsakh President Bako Sahakyan participated in an inspection of the armed forces, according to the Office of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic President. Sahakyan noted that such inspections greatly contribute to raising the combat readiness of the armed forces.

Sahakyan ordered that all known drawbacks be eliminated within a set time frame.
