YEREVAN (Mediamax)—The 100 LIVES project, implemented by the Initiatives for Development of Armenia (IDeA) Foundation, donated $100,000 to UNICEF to help children affected by last week’s devastating earthquake in Nepal.
The sum was donated as part of the “Armenia to Nepal” humanitarian campaign started in Armenia, which calls upon Armenians to support UNICEF’s efforts to help the children in Nepal.
“The devastating earthquake in Nepal has considerably damaged the country rich in history. We express our condolence to all those who were hit by the disaster. 100 LIVES was initiated as a humanitarian project and we can’t neglect people’s suffering. It is in such cases that the best human traits are demonstrated, and I call upon all the Armenians in the world to join the initiative and support the people affected by the disaster,” said Co-Founder of IDeA and 100 LIVES Ruben Vardanian.
“Our people are well aware of the sorrow of such disasters and know how to appreciate the helping hand. We have always been thankful for all those who helped us during the devastating earthquake in 1988. The whole world is aiding the Nepalese people and we can’t but take part in it, which is why we decided to transfer money to UNICEF which will help children hit by the earthquake,” CEO of IDeA Foundation Armen Gevorgyan said.
