NEW YORK — The 54th session of the Commission on Social Development (CSocD) will take place this year at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on 3-12 February, 2016. The priority theme for this session is: “Rethinking and Strengthening Social Development in the Contemporary World” which identifies new opportunities for sustainable development and provides concrete, forward-looking policy recommendations. It articulates key inter-linkages between the social, economic and environmental dimensions of sustainable development.
Armenian Relief Society, Inc. (ARS) UN/NGO Committee representatives will also be present at the Civil Society Forum, “Inequalities and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development: Rethinking and Strengthening Social development in the Contemporary World”, on February 1-2, 2016.
With their active participation, the ARS UN/NGO Committee representatives will have concrete recommendations for the Commission, on understanding the relationship between CSocD and Agenda 2030, and making the link between governments and grassroots.
