STEPANAKERT (News.am) —Azerbaijan violated the agreement to ceasefire along the Line of Contact between the Karabakh and Azerbaijani opposing forces, and which started from Wednesday at 7:30pm and continued until early Thursday morning by use of rifle weaponry, grenade launchers, and mortars.
Serviceman Armen Martirosyan, born in 1996, was mortally wounded on Wednesday at around 8pm in a military unit located in northern Artsakh of as a result of the gunfire by the Azerbaijani armed forces.
An investigation is underway to find out the details of the incident.
“[But] as a result of the actions taken in response by the vanguard units, Azerbaijan’s activeness was suppressed,” the respective Karabakh Ministry of Defense statement reads.
