ROMANIA (Panorama)—Armenian representative Lilit Mkrtchyan defeated Azerbaijani Gunay Mammadzada at European Individual Women’s Chess Championship in Mamaia, Romania. The 6th round games were held at the European Individual Women’s Chess Championship, reported ANOC press service.
According to the source, Armenia’s women’s chess team member, Mkrtchyan, gained advantage over Azerbaijani Gunay Mammadzada. Armenian Maria Kursova also celebrated victory defeating Russian Daria Charochkina. Armenia’s current champion,Maria Gevorgyan, won for the second time in a row gaining advantage over Greek Marina Makropoulou. Lilit Galoyan was the only Armenian chess player who tied the game in the 6th round.
The European Individual Women’s Chess Championship kicked off on May 27 and will end on June 8.
