YEREVAN (Armenpress)—Minsk Group Co-Chairs Igor Popov (Russia), James Warlick (USA), Pierre Andrieu (France) plan to visit Azerbaijan, Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh, Co-Chair Popov told the Azerbaijani APA news agency.
“We plan to visit the region after October 20. Meetings with the leadership and the military officials are expected. We plan to discuss the implementation ways of agreements reached at the Vienna and St. Petersburg summits which will contribute to establishing stability in the conflict zone,” Popov said. He also informed that the prospects of the negotiation process will be discussed during the visit.
In response to rumors of surrendering five regions of Nagorno-Karabakh to Azerbaijan, Popov said the Nagorno-Karabakh peace-process must be considered in a coordinated form together with all elements for, including the status of Nagorno-Karabakh, the return of all refugees, the maintenance of corridor connecting the Nagorno-Karabakh with Armenia, and the implementation of peacekeeping activities.
“The settlement process is a single package, and any attempt to remove separate elements preferable for this or that side from the package is unconstructive,” Popov said.
