STEPANAKERT–Private of the Artsakh Defense Army Karen Danielyan (born in 1996) was killed on Saturday as a result of Azerbaijani shooting at the northern part of the Artsakh-Azerbaijan border, reported the Artsakh Defense Ministry, which added that the attack took place at around 7:20 a.m.
“The Artsakh Defense Ministry shares the sorrow of the heavy loss and offers condolences to the serviceman’s family and friends,” said the statement.
Artsakh President Bako Sahakian, posthumously awarded the “For Service in Battle” medal to Daniyelyan.
The Artskah Defense Ministry also reported that in the early hours on Monday, Azerbaijani units using small arms of various caliber violated the ceasefire about 80 times. The Azerbaijanis fired more than 750 shots in the direction of the Armenian positions.
In the northern direction of theArtsakh-Azerbaijan border, in addition to small arms, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces also used a 60 mm mortar shells.
