Russia has denied the widely held view that amendments planned in its defense agreement with Armenia involve changes in the functions of its military base stationed in the South Caucasus country.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Thursday met separately with his Armenian and Azerbaijani counterparts in Moscow for talks on the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported Friday.
