YEREVAN—On July 15 the President of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, Bako Sahakian, met in Yerevan with OSCE Chairman-in-Office and Ukrainian Foreign Minister, Leonid Kozhara.
A number of issues related to the Karabakh conflict, its settlement, and regional trends were discussed during the meeting.
President Sahakian noted that Stepanakert opted for peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group.
He emphasized the necessity of restoring the negotiation format approved by the OSCE Budapest Summit, adding that it would be impossible to reach a comprehensive settlement of the conflict without NKR’s direct participation.
President Sahakian said that Baku’s destructive policies are the most important hindrance to the resolution of the Karabakh conflict. He stressed that they are becoming more dangerous by the day and should receive commensurate reactions from the international community.
NKR Foreign Minister Karen Mirzoian, Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Andrzej Kasprzyk, and other officials were present at the meeting, the Central Information Department of the Office of the NKR President reported.
