Hayastan All-Armenian Fund
Being the last city in Western Armenia’s Cilician Kingdom to remain populated with Armenians, Kessab has great historical significance for Armenians. The recent attacks on Kessab reignited bitter memories of the past, including that of the Armenian genocide, when the town was similarly emptied and its people killed.
Notable donations to the All-Armenian Fund included a one million dram donation from the students and faculty of Yerevan State University and donations from the Armenian Minister of Agriculture and Artsakh’s Prime Minister, who donated their one month’s salaries.
The Hayastan All-Armenian Fund continues to ask people around the world for donations to support the Armenians of Kessab with housing, food, and medicine as they face an uncertain future.
