YEREVAN (Arka)—The seventh annual DigiTech 2014 business forum will be held in Yerevan from June 20 to 21, Karen Vardanyan, head of Armenia’s Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE) said Friday. Vardanyan said this year’s motto for the gathering is “Smart Solutions for Smart Business.”

The goal of the forum is to help various business sectors find the best technological solutions while supporting IT companies in presenting their products to potential investors.

This year the forum topics include tourism, services and trade, agriculture and recycling, construction and mining, finance, banking, e-commerce, healthcare, education, and transport.

About 50 companies and over 3,000 visitors are expected at the forum, whose organisers are UITE and ArmenTel. Among the guests are representatives of three Russian and one Georgian firm.

The event will be held under the auspices of the Armenian government. Russia’s Arinteg Company and Conversebank have joined the sponsors this year. Arka News Agency is the media sponsor of the event.

UITE was established in 2000 to promote the economic interests of local IT companies, stimulate business development, and encourage research.
