YEREVAN (Arka)—Armenia-based Ameriabank has won the Euromoney 2014 Award for Excellence as the best bank in Armenia for the third time, the bank said in a press release.

Since 1992, Euromoney, the world’s leading financial markets magazine, has singled out the outstanding institutions in finance worldwide, granting awards in various nominations. Euromoney Awards for Excellence now incorporate 20 global awards for banking and capital markets; and awards for the best banks and financial institutions in almost 100 countries around the world.

The best bank award went to Ameriabank in recognition of its strengthening position in Armenia’s banking system, efficient management system, introduction of new products and best international experience and advanced technology.

Among other considerations for the award were implementation of large lending projects to support development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) via cooperation with EBRD, Austria’s OeEB, France’s Proparco, IFC, Holland’s development finance company (FMO), Germany’s DEG (KfW Bankengruppe member), the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

The bank was awarded also for expansion of the list of international factoring services offered due to its membership in Factors Chain International and for introduction of a number of innovative solutions, designed specifically for its clients.

“Ameriabank will continue implementation of its strategy, and will also strengthen its leading position in the region by offering progressive and innovative solutions in the financial sector,” stated the bank.

Ameriabank CJSC is a universal bank offering corporate, investment and retail banking services in a comprehensive package of banking solutions.
