YEREVAN (Armenpress)—The Government of Armenia is planning on privatizing HyePost, CJSC, the country’s national postal service provider.
A discussion will be held at the government’s next cabinet meeting on May 27, where a decision will likely be made to categorize HyePost as a government-owned company slated for privatization, along with a number of other companies, in line with a 2006 law on privatizing state assets.
The sole shareholder of the company is the Republic of Armenia, namely the Ministry of Transport and Communication. It is hoped that the privatization of HyePost will lead to private investments, an increase in cash flow and the modernization of the company.
