YEREVAN—Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan is set to resign on Thursday during a Republican Party executive council meeting, said Organizational Committee President Ruben Tadevosyan.

The meeting’s agenda will also include discussion of the succeeding leader of the party.

Sources told that Abrahamyan is likely to be replaced by Karen Karapetyan, former head of Armenia’s gas distributing company ArmRosGazprom and former mayor of Yerevan.
