YEREVAN—The military strategy classroom from Yerevan’s School #147 has been named after Artsakh martyr Robert Abajyan at a solemn ceremony on Wednesday, read a press release by Yerevan’s municipality.
Abajyan was a graduate of the school and would have turned 20 on November 16.
According to the press release, students and teachers of the school recalled memories of Abajyan during the ceremony, while younger students vowed to keep his memory alive and uphold the mission of defending Armenia.
During battle, wounded Abajyan tried to save comrade Andranik Zohrabyan, but both soldiers lost their lives April 2 after the third Azeri attack on their position. Their bodies were retrieved April 8, after Armenian forces were able to enter the ‘neutral zone’ where the bodies were found.
Abajyan’s father Aleksan Abajyan and Armenian Armed Forces General Lieutenant Stepan Galstyan were given the honor of opening the classroom at the ceremony.
