After Artsakh President Bako Sahakian received Sarkisian at the Stepanakert Airport, the presidents took part in the opening of a new barrack at a military unit located in the state’s central region.

Sarkisian later participated in a meeting at the Defense Ministry, where he was briefed on the current situation on the border and issues regarding army development.

A press statement on Armenia’s presidential website announced that Sarkisian on Thursday also visited a military unit on the republic’s southeastern border.

Sarkisian listened to a report given by the commanders of the unit and later conversed with servicemen.

He was accompanied by Armenia’s Defense Minister Vigen Sargsyan and various officials of the ministry.
