Artsakh Parliament Speaker Ashot Ghulyan meets with a group of European Parliament members
BRUSSELS—The Speaker of Artsakh’s Parliament Ashot Ghulyan on Wednesday met with a group of European Parliament members in Brussels, during which he explored opportunities to include Artsakh in ongoing European Union programs,
Introducing the meeting participants, European Parliament memebr Eleni Theocharous, head of the EP-Armenia friendship group, stated that the meeting provides a great opportunity to exchange views on various issues relating to Artsakh.
Welcoming the meeting participants, the Artsakh Parliament Speaker touched upon the successful experience with the EU and the federal and regional parliaments of Belgium, as well as highlighted the necessity to maintain and promote this cooperation after the upcoming elections of the European Parliament.
During the meeting the participants also exchanged views on the recognition of the Artsakh people’s right to self-determination, the peaceful resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, as well as the inclusion of Artsakh in various EU programs, including the ones aimed at civil society development.
