SYDNEY: Only three weeks remain for the Armenian Sydney Dance Company's (ASDC) 10th Anniversary Cultural and Dance Extravaganza at the Lyric Theatre Star City, to be held on Sunday 26 September.
The 240-strong dance troupe of the ASDC are in their final stages of dance rehearsals and are eagerly waiting to showcase the results to the thousands expected to attend the biggest show the Sydney Armenian community has ever witnessed.
Adding to the anticipation is the participation of a number of superstar Armenian singers and musicians from Armenia and the United States of America.
"This year we have invited two Armenian superstars Lelya Saribekyan and Hayko to entertain the Australian Armenian Community," said Harmick Hacobian, Chairman of the ASDC.
"We very much look forward to Lelya's iconic song Miasnutyan Shurjpar to transform the Lyric Theatre into another dimension.
"Our dancers have prepared a unique performance and with the added flare of the famous Armenian Duduk Player Gamo Seyranyan, this will be an event not to be missed."
Hayko, one of the invited guests, was Armenia's representative the 2007 Eurovision song contest, and will be performing his chart-topping songs "Anytime You Need" and "Yerevani Kishinere". A special treat will be the duet with his wife Anahit Simonian.
Hacobian added: "We have also invited Armen Hovanessyan from the US, who will be performing his classical repertoire accompanied on the keyboard by the talented Andranik Mouradian."
As well as the Extravaganza on 26 September, these performers will also grace the stage at the ASDC Dinner Dance the following week, to be held at Bellevue Bankstown on Sunday 3 October.
