SYDNEY: Armenian-Australian artist Milanda de Mont (Gregorian) has won the 2010 Gosford Major Art Prize Award of $10,000 for her abstract painting titled PROJECTION.
The Gosford Art Prize is one of Australia's prominent Art Prizes in reputation and popularity, which is organised annually by its major sponsor, Gosford City Council.
The Gosford Art Prize attracts many professional and prolific Australian Artists. In the 2010 Gosoford Art Prize, Artists from all over Australia particpited to compete against each other and entered 517 artworks into the competition in various categories such as: painting, sculpture, photography, installation art, video art, and ceramic art.
Out of 517 works, only 154 artworks were selected by the Judges for the inclusion of the Finalist Exhibition at Gosford Regional Art Gallery.
