“From the religious center of all Armenians – the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin – we extend our condolences over the mass killing of Yazidi population in Iraq. We are deeply concerned by the inhuman violence in the northern regions of Iraq and the resulting human losses,” Karekin II wrote in the letter.
Severely condemning the massacre and violence against Yazidis, the Catholicos of All Armenians expressed confidence that the Yazidi people, which have centuries-old history, will survive and overcome this trial.
Karkein II called on the international community and organisations to take urgent steps to stop the slaughter of Yazidis in Iraq.
