YEREVAN (Arka)—Russia’s Grozny Avia airline, operated out of Chechnya, will begin regular direct flights from Simferopol in Crimea to Yerevan, Crimea’s Minister of Transport Anatoly Tsurkin told RIA Novosti. He said the maiden flight is slated for October 10.

According to Tsurkin, Simferopol airport handles international flights only to Turkey. Namely, regular flights to Istanbul are operated by Grozny Avia on Mondays and Thursdays.

The airport in Simferopol resumed international flights on July 19 after Crimea joined the Russian Federation.
