YEREVAN (ARKA)—President of the Artsakh Republic Bako Sahakyan visited the British Parliament on Wednesday where he delivered a speech, according to Sahakyan’s press service.

In his speech Sahakyan spoke about Artsakh’s socio-economic development, the peace process with Azerbaijan, and took questions from the audience.

Sahakyan said that Artsakh views the United Kingdom as an influential state and one of the cradles of democracy and European civilization.

According to Sahakyan, Artsakh is interested in developing relations with the United Kingdom, especially in deepening parliamentary ties and cementing relations in scientific, educational, and humanitarian pursuits. His optimism, according to him, is based on the “sincere and devoted friends of Artsakh” in the British Parliament.

Armenia’s ambassador to the UK Armen Sarkissian was present at the meeting.

Sahakyan arrived in London on Monday for a working visit, meeting with various Armenian community leaders, including the Armenian Revolutionary Federation party branch.
