Tigran Gevorgyan took the gold medal in the open water swimming competition at the 2015 Special Olympics
LOS ANGELES (Pan Armenia)—Armenian athlete Tigran Gevorgyan won a gold medal in open water swimming tournament at the 2015 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Los Angeles, the U.S. Embassy to Armenia announced on Friday.
Five athletes representing Armenia participated in the 2015 Special Olympics in different sports, including aquatics, athletics, powerlifting, and table tennis.
Tigran Gevorgyan won another gold medal at 2011 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Athens. Armenian Athletes Nona Aroyan, Suren Balasanyan, and Spartak Hakobyan also won medals in 2011 Games.
