The Azerbaijan-Armenia border
YEREVAN (News.am)—Azerbaijani forces shelled border regions in Armenia’s Tavush Province on Tuesday night hitting targets in the Aygepar and Chinari villages.
Local sources reported that two soldiers were wounded in the attack. They were first taken to the Bert hospital and later transported to a military hospital nearby.
Armenia’s Defense Ministry spokesman Artsrun Hovhannisyan confirmed the news and identified the soldiers as Vladimir Aram Gevorgyan, 19, and Gor Hambardzum Gevorgyan, 22. Hovhannisyan said that the two soldiers were in stable condition and the attacks had subsided.
This attack comes a night before Artsakh is preparing to celebrate the 24th anniversary of its independence.
