STEPANAKERT (Armenia Now)—The Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Ministry has denied reports that Azerbaijan destroyed an Armenian drone.
“The propagandists of the Defense Ministry of the neighboring country simply again wanted to present what they wished [was] a reality,” a statement issue by the Karabakh Defense Ministry reads.
This is not the first time that Azerbaijan claims to have shot down an Armenian drone in the Karabakh conflict zone and that the Armenian side has denied it. Armenian military officials have refuted such reports at least twice in 2015.
In July, Stepanakert also denied that two tanks of the Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army were destroyed by anti-tank mines during military drills in the conflict zone.
The latest report from the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry came during the summit of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in the Tajik capital of Dushanbe, where Armenia voiced its concerns about tensions on the border with Azerbaijan.
